About the NPAs
The SQA National Progression Awards (NPAs) are industry and sector specific courses aimed at developing skills and knowledge in preparation for further study or employment.
NPAs offered by us all sit at Level 6 in the Scottish Qualifications Framework, the same level as Highers. NPAs can also attract UCAS points for those interested in applying to higher education.
Courses are open to all those in S2 upwards for the 2025/2026 academic year. The courses are also open to adults, although these may take place at alternative times by agreement.
Find out more about the courses on offer below.
Entry Requirements
Students should have an interest in the relevant area, be committed to working at SCQF Level 6 (the same as Higher) and have a flexible and mature attitude to learning.
Students will be required to undertake some work outside of class / session times and should ensure they have enough time alongside any other commitments to complete this.
Since our first cohort in 2022, we're proud to have a 100% success rate. It should be noted however that registration and payment is not a guarantee of passing the course. Not all candidates have passed their assessments at the first time of asking and attaining a certain level of ability is required to pass some elements of the courses.
Course Fees
Course fees for 25/26 are £550.
This includes:
- All teaching classes
- All 1 to 1 sessions (where applicable)
- All workshops with industry experts.
- Registration and assessment fees
The fee can be paid in one amount or over 9 monthly payments.
Registration for the 25/26 presentation has now closed.
Thanks to a generous donation in memory of Nigel and GG we are in a position to offer part or fully funded places on our NPA courses where young people are keen to pursue the course, but cost is a barrier to taking part. There’s no formal application process, please do get in touch if you think this applies to you.
