Broadway Junior: How to Train Your Dragon Jr.

Our Broadway Junior productions are adapted versions of hit Broadway shows, designed specifically for younger voices.

Based on the DreamWorks Animation hit, How to Train Your Dragon JR. brings fire-breathing action, epic adventure and big laughs to the stage.

Hiccup is a young Viking who defies tradition and befriends one of his deadliest foes – a ferocious dragon he calls Toothless. Together, the unlikely heroes fight against the odds to save both their worlds in this wonderful theatrical adaptation.

Registration opens 1st November @ 9.00am - click for more info!

About Broadway Junior

Rehearsing once a week (Sunday afternoons) throughout January - March, performers will take part in performance week at the end of March. Registration is open to all those in P1 - S6, and there's no requirement to have preformed with RCT before.  Auditions are not required for roles in our ensemble.

Performers will be split across multiple casts (with parents / carers able to express a cast preference); each cast taking part in multiple performances (although they will rehearse together). Some older cast members may be asked to take part in all performances, depending on casting. As this is a Broadway Jr. production, all performers must be under the age of 19 at the time of performance.

Auditions

By registering, all performers are automatically included in the ensemble: Broadway Jr productions always include plenty of stage time for chorus roles and it is the best way to get involved in as many parts of the show as possible. Auditions take place for any principal roles and for minor speaking / singing roles. As always, no one has to audition but anyone can if they want to. Audition information including which parts are available will be given out at the first rehearsal.

Important! A note from Pamela about rehearsals

Rehearsals are a vital part of performing and our experience shows when kids miss them it can be really detrimental to their confidence and also the wider cast, who have to fill in and try to remember people who are not there.

We'd ask that parents / carers consider both their child's and family's plans during the rehearsal period before deciding whether their child can commit to taking part. Holidays, birthday parties, family gatherings, camps, sporting events etc can all fill up the diary and impact attendance. There will always be another show to take part in, so it's absolutely fine to sit this one out if they're just too busy at the moment.

If you have any questions about rehearsal attendance, please do get in touch.
