Take Part : Summer Stage Fest

Celebrate theatre in all its forms as part of our 20th year celebrations!

We’re delighted to be able to offer a new experience for Summer 2026, unlike anything we’ve offered before.  We’ll come together for a week to workshop, rehearse and create, culminating in a day of festival style performances both inside and out at our new home at The Cowane.

Registration is open to all of those currently in P1 upwards.

Mon 20th July - Sat 26th July

Summer Stage Fest

Children will attend at The Cowane, 10am – 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Mornings
We’ll spend every morning rehearsing the amazing Jungle Book KIDS adapted from Disney's beloved animated film and the works of Rudyard Kipling, it’s a jazzy upbeat Broadway take on the original film. We will perform the show in full, twice on the Saturday.

Afternoons
In the afternoon kids will be able to select one of four options to focus on for the week:

Opera Scenes – led by Holly Jarvis (operatic mezzo soprano and RCT alumni) kids will learn the singing, staging, style and techniques involved, performing their excerpt on Stage Fest Saturday.

A little bit of Shakespeare – Kids will work on a short adapted version of the magical A Midsummer Night’s Dream, as an introduction to Shakespeare in performance, and demystifying the bard! We will then perform on Saturday.

Craft, Costume and Production – Kids will help create costumes, build props, paint set, learn a little about the lights, sound and production that will go into our Saturday performances.

Dance Daft – focusing on dance, we’ll work on creating, building and performing some of the most famous dance sequences in musical theatre, showcasing these on the Saturday.

How To Pay

There are three different ways to pay:

  • In full at registration - we accept all major credit / debit cards.
  • Over 3 - 4 monthly instalments - select the option at checkout (first payment is due at registration).
  • Pay nothing now, use the code RCTDEFER24 at checkout, and pay the balance by 31st May

Cancellations and Refunds:  If you need to withdraw your child from the show for any reason, fees for Summer Stage Fest can be refunded in full before the 31st May. After this point 50% of fees can be refunded until the 30th June.  After this we will have incurred significant costs relating their space, and won't be able to offer the space to another child, so the fee will not be refundable. If you have chosen to pay in instalments or deferred payment, any outstanding balance will become due at cancellation.

Theatre for all:  We strongly believe that cost should not be a barrier to participation and will always, where requested, offer fee reductions, or fully funded places.  If you would like to speak to us about cost, please use the code RCTDEFER24 at checkout. This will allow you to register your child now and then we'll get in touch to see how we can help.

As always, if you have any questions, just shout!
